Meghan Leigh, Deputy Chair of the Study Coordinator Committee, shares updates from the Study Coordinator Committee’s latest workshop on the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework.

Meghan Leigh is the Deputy Chair of the Study Coordinator Committee and the Research Coordinator Team Manager at Icon Research.

“The Study Coordinator Committee (SCC) met virtually on the afternoon of Friday 23 October for our annual workshop, and unlike last year, we weren’t shouted at for working through our breaks!

Dr Bernadette Aliprandi-Costa from the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality Improvement Systems and Intergovernmental Relations walked us through the newly updated National Clinical Trials Governance Framework, which will see hospital accreditation mandating support of clinical trials. This exciting new development will be a large piece of work to implement over the next 3 years, and the SCC will be focusing on supporting trials units through this process. Dr Aliprandi-Costa will be headlining the SCC agenda at the 2021 Annual Scientific Meeting.”
