ANZGOG member and Mercy Health’s Professor Peter Grant has been recognised with a Medal of the Order of Australia in the General Division (OAM) for his service to gynaecological oncology.
Prof Peter Grant became an inaugural member of ANZGOG in 2001 and has previously been a member of ANZGOG’s Research Advisory Committee,
“Along with my involvement with Cancer Australia, it has been the most important avenue to achieve system change in the care of women with gynaecological cancer.”
Prof Grant has held various board positions including, Chair of the Gynaecological Cancer Advisory Group, and at present, Board Member of the Norman Beischer Medical Research Foundation and Chair of the Endometrial Cancer Expert Working Group, Cancer Council Victoria.
Prof Grant’s research aims to improve survival duration and quality of life for women with gynaecological cancers. He believes that the trajectory of cancer research will lead to individualised treatment planning being more commonly implemented.

His work and dedication to the field has made a significant contribution to the gynaecological oncology sector, ensuing Prof Grant’s Medal of the Order of Australia for his service.
