Be the Voice That Makes a Difference: Survivors Teaching Students Webinar on 27 February

The Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group (ANZGOG) is calling on people with a lived experience of ovarian and other gynaecological cancers, including those personally diagnosed and their caregivers, to join a powerful movement that is changing the future of healthcare.

Register now for a free Survivors Teaching Students® (STS) information webinar on Thursday 27 February at 12.30pm AEDT and discover how your story can educate and inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.

ANZGOG’s Survivors Teaching Students® program brings ovarian and other gynaecological cancer survivors and caregivers into the classrooms of our next generation of health professionals to teach them about women’s experiences with the diseases. Survivors and caregivers are in a unique position to help students understand the ‘lived experience’ of a gynaecological cancer, including the psychosocial impact, and the importance of timely diagnosis, good health communication and compassionate care.

Since its inception in 2017, the Survivors Teaching Students® program has educated over 18,000 medical, nursing and allied health students across Australia and New Zealand in partnership with 22 universities. Student feedback shows STS is a highly valued learning experience providing students with memorable patient insights to inform their future practice.

With more than 1,000 volunteers globally, the Survivors Teaching Students® program continues to grow; supporting and empowering people with a lived experience of gynaecological cancer to improve the diagnosis, treatment and care of women in the future.
